Steps to Root Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013 on Android 5.0 Lollipop

Here are given the step by step guide that how to root nexus 5 and nexus 7 2013 on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Step No 1:- First of all open the command in the Fastboot folder by holding the Shift key and click on the empty space of the folder on your mouse.

Step No 2:- Via original USB cable connect your device to PC.

Step No 3:- Reboot your Nexus device into fastboot mode by typing the below given command in the command prompt.

adb reboot bootloader

Step No 4:- If your device is not bootloader unlocked then unlock it by using the below given command.

fastboot oem unlock

Step No 5:- Now in this step of rooting the Nexus device you’ve to just extract the patched kernels to fastboot folder. After extracting the patched kernel you will get a boot.img file.

Step No 6:- In order to flash the modified kernel enters the below given command in the command prompt.

fastboot flash boot boot.img

Step No 7:- Boot the device into the recovery mode by pressing the volume Down button twice and then press the Power button.

Step No 8:- Now in the custom recovery install the SuperSU Zip file.

Step No 9:- When the SuperSU file is successfully flashed then reboot the device.

Step No 10:- Reboot your device after the SuperSU file is flashed.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully rooted your Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi.
