How To Update Samsung Galaxy S4 To C-RoM Android 4.4.2 KitKat

Samsung Galaxy S5 is also released recently all over the world and maximum Galaxy S5 users want to root or update their S5 devices. But if you have not still purchased Galaxy S5 and have Samsung Galaxy S4 then here is a good news for you that C-Rom Android 4.4.2 Kitkat has been released and now you can customize your Samsung Galaxy S4 on Android 4.4.2 KitKat C-ROM that is more fast, stable and fast build on AOSP sources. Here is a step by step guide to update Samsung Galaxy S4 to the latest Android 4.4.2 custom firmware.


How To Update Samsung Galaxy S4

Before Getting Started:-

  1. Your Samsung Galaxy S4 must be rooted and unlocked.
  2. A recovery tool such as TWRP or CWM must be installed on your Galaxy S4
  3. Download the C-RoM Android 4.4.2 KitKat Custom Firmware
  4. Enable USB debugging on your Galaxy S4 by going to, Settings -> Development Options -> USB Debugging.
  5. Create a backup of all your important data on your Galaxy S4.
  6. Your Samsung Galaxy S4 must be charged at least 70% to 80%.

Warning: The following given guide is only applicable for AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-I337 devices. Please do not try this guide on other Android & Samsung Smartphones. We’ll not responsible for any damage/lose. Proceed on your own risk.

Updating Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4.2 KitKat C-RoM:

Step No 1:- First of all connect your Samsung Galaxy S4 to PC via USB cable.

Step No 2:- Now copy the zip file that you have downloaded from the above link to a microSD card.

Step No 3:- After copying file just disconnect your device and power off.

Step No 4:- Now you’ll need to boot your Galaxy S4 into Recovery Mode.

Note: You can boot your Galaxy S4 device into recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power buttons together.

Step No 5:- It’s the time to create a backup. You can take a Nandroid backup of your current OS by going to Backup –> Backup and Restore on ClockworkMod Recovery.

How To Wipe Data?

You can wipe your data, Go to CWM recovery Menu, here you’ll choose Wipe Data / Factory Reset and confirm the process. Then go on to wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache.

Step No 6:- Now go to Recovery Menu, choose install zip from sdcard followed by choose zip from sdcard. Brose and select the C-RoM Android 4.4.2 custom firmware and confirm to start the flashing process.

Step No 7:- Reboot your AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 i337 into the new custom ROM after going back to Main Recovery Menu.

Wait until the booting process finished, it may take up to 5 minutes for the first time to boot
