But if you have not still purchased Galaxy S5 and have Samsung Galaxy S4 then here is a good news for you that C-Rom Android 4.4.2 Kitkat has been released and now you can customize your Samsung Galaxy S4 on Android 4.4.2 KitKat C-ROM that is more fast, stable and fast build on AOSP sources. Here is a step by step guide to update Samsung Galaxy S4 to the latest Android 4.4.2 custom firmware.
Before Getting Started:-
- Your Samsung Galaxy S4 must be rooted and unlocked.
- A recovery tool such as TWRP or CWM must be installed on your Galaxy S4
- Download the C-RoM Android 4.4.2 KitKat Custom Firmware
- Enable USB debugging on your Galaxy S4 by going to, Settings -> Development Options -> USB Debugging.
- Create a backup of all your important data on your Galaxy S4.
- Your Samsung Galaxy S4 must be charged at least 70% to 80%.
Warning: The following given guide is only applicable for AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-I337 devices. Please do not try this guide on other Android & Samsung Smartphones. We’ll not responsible for any damage/lose. Proceed on your own risk.
Updating Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4.2 KitKat C-RoM:
Step No 1:- First of all connect your Samsung Galaxy S4 to PC via USB cable.
Step No 2:- Now copy the zip file that you have downloaded from the above link to a microSD card.
Step No 3:- After copying file just disconnect your device and power off.
Step No 4:- Now you’ll need to boot your Galaxy S4 into Recovery Mode.
Note: You can boot your Galaxy S4 device into recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power buttons together.
Step No 5:- It’s the time to create a backup. You can take a Nandroid backup of your current OS by going to Backup –> Backup and Restore on ClockworkMod Recovery.
How To Wipe Data?
You can wipe your data, Go to CWM recovery Menu, here you’ll choose Wipe Data / Factory Reset and confirm the process. Then go on to wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache.
Step No 6:- Now go to Recovery Menu, choose install zip from sdcard followed by choose zip from sdcard. Brose and select the C-RoM Android 4.4.2 custom firmware and confirm to start the flashing process.
Step No 7:- Reboot your AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 i337 into the new custom ROM after going back to Main Recovery Menu.
Wait until the booting process finished, it may take up to 5 minutes for the first time to boot
